After taking a short trip to the Maltese Islands and Liverpool UK to visit my dearest family, I painted this collage of Liverpools sights

What a wonderful city it is, so full of history, charming people, exquisite parks and delectable food! With Wales and the lake district so close, it is a great base for exploring the west coast.

The Maltese Islands including Gozo are a delight to explore and you feel you are stepping into an ancient civilization. I arrived as spring burst forth, covering the fields with an astonishing abundance of flowers, the sea a glorious aqua blue and fields bursting with vegetables.

When a truck arrived outside our door each morning, packed full of vegetables, fruit and everything inbetween, or when leaving empty gas bottles out and full ones are dropped off but if you're not there to pay, then 'next time', I was taken back to a bygone time where milk was delivered to homes when simply leaving a empty bottle on the doorstep with a coupon or 2 inside. Such is life, still, on a Island in the Mediterranean.

Out of season, its a lovely time to visit with warm days and cool nights with few tourists. Bayviewb&b (www.bayviewbbgozo.com) is ideally situated for easy assess to buses, village walks, quadbike hire, restaurants, beaches and the historic relics of times past. There is even stables that offer a horse ride with a difference. Gozo and Malta certainly has a lot to offer the intrepid traveller who enjoys both old and modern cultures and as a nature lover, I've been blown away by the beauty of this timeless, ancient place.
