Uniondale in the Paul Roux district of the Eastern Free State is fairly new Game Farm and Lodge and we paid a visit taking our bicycles, walking shoes, horseriding gear and camera. Other than a few descriptions, I'll let the photos do the talking

Nyala browse between the chalets

Malachite sunbird taking advantange of the flowering aloes

Beautiful light as the sun ducks behind the mountain

Bokmakierie sings before going to roost for the evening

Early morning horse ride

Nothing like heading off into the bush armed only with a camera, on the hunt for wildflowers

Old settlements scattered around the farm

Can you spot the grasshopper?

Finding bugs when viewing photos after downloading onto the computer is such a delight!

Posing Peacock knows how beautiful he is

Our morning cycle around the farm

Whitebellied sunbird. The sweet female was also a visitor

Big breeding herd of Eland

Magnificence

Nyala at sundown

Curious Emu

Whitebrowed Sparrow-weaver popped over to give us a lookover

The view from our Chalet veranda

The main lodge with swimming pool, kiddies play area and restaurant

Dinosaur tracks were found on the farm and is on display near the museum which was designed by Wits University. For more information on the dinosaur park and other activities check out their website on www.uniondalefarm.co.za
